Welcome to kindergarten science! Great science education is built through hands-on exploration and understanding of the scientific method. In class we learn to observe the natural world around us and use those observations to answer questions about the natural world. Each class builds on the last where the students get to be scientists! As a young scientist, they are engaged in highly rewarding activities that build both a strong academic foundation but also a sense of teamwork and social skills. Listed below are the objectives that we have met and what we are working on now. The best exploration however happens at home and I encourage you to question your young scientist on how the world works! Here is a SECRET....it is okay if we do not always have an answer, discovering is part of the fun!
We Have: We Are Working On:
Identified Our Five Senses Defining How Things Move
Constructed Charts Based off Scientific Observations Constructing Ways to Move Objects
Defined Force, Rest, and Motion Identifying Simple Machines as Tools
Demonstrated Forces
Defined Gravity
Constructed Models to Simulate Gravity
Developed an Understanding of Living Versus Nonliving Things
